About Us: SPRED SPRED (Special Religious Development) is an agency of the Archdiocese of Chicago providing a network of services designed to assist persons with developmental disabilities and/or learning problems to become integrated into parish life.
History of SPRED Spred began in 1960 when Fr. James McCarthy from the Archdiocese of Chicago began to work with parents, special educators and catechist volunteers.
