AngelsFest: Queen of Angels Holds Festival Featuring Live Music, Food and Fun
September 18th, 2004, 5 - 11 PM, 4412 North Western Avenue

CHICAGO - On Saturday, September 18th 2004 community organizers will present AngelsFest-one of Lincoln Square's best outdoor fall festivals featuring live music, food, beverages, and kid's entertainment benefiting the Queen of Angels Parish.

This year's expanded event takes place in the lot and street area next to the school at Western and Sunnyside streets. Come early and enjoy the various entertainers and great food all night. 5-11pm. Donation at gate is $5 (kids 12 and under free).

Musical acts include:

• The Mini Reubens: popular songs of the 70's and 80's
• Eliezer y su Nuevo Tumbao: hot salsa sounds to get bodies moving
• Mary Ann Johnson: acoustic guitar in the Kid's Corner

Press Release > Faith and Food: Queen of Angels Parish Takes Part in Heifer-Supported Farms and Agricultural Projects

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Queen of Angels Parish is participating in “Faith and Food,” a Heifer-supported initiative that offers members of Chicago congregations the chance to purchase organic produce and meat while supporting lives of dignity for those who raise our food.

In a project beginning in early July and running for 16 weeks, Queen of Angels parishioners and others in Ravenswood can receive weekly shipments of locally grown, organic produce from Heifer-supported farmers. Contact Cliff McIntosh at 773/278-7625 or the Heifer Project’s Sundee Wislow 773/279-9696 for more information or to sign up for Faith and Food.

For more details on signup, participating farms, and other information, go to the website of the Queen of Angels Peace & Justice Committee, www.peaceandjusticechicago.com.

The deadline for registering for Faith and Food at Queen of Angels is Sunday, June 27.

ANUNCIOS DE ORGANIZACIONES HISPANAS PARA LA GUIA

Estamos preocupados que no se están anunciando los eventos de la comunidad hispana en el boletín, La Guía Se invita a todos los líderes de las organizaciones hispanas a poner un anuncio sobre los eventos de su grupo en el boletín.

Grupos de oración, estudio bíblico, preparaciónpre-bautismal, adoración eucarística, eventos Guadalupanos, clases de ciudadanía, bailes y fiestas … o CUALQUIER otro evento importante deben de anunciarse en el boletín. El boletín debe utilizarse para avisar a la comunidad sobre el trabajo importante de la parroquia.

Para poner un anuncio en el boletín dominical favor de traer su anuncio, escrito en español, al Centro Parroquial (4412 N. Western Ave.) no más tarde de 10 a.m. en el martes antes del domingo cuando Ud. quiere que el anuncio aparezca. También se puede mandarlo por e-mail a redpen927@aol.com.

Si viene al Centro Parroquial entre las horas de 4 y 8 p.m. lunes a jueves, Minerva León, la secretaria de habla hispana, puede ayudarle con el boletín.

Si Ud. tiene una pregunta, y puede hablar inglés, llama al Centro Parroquial (773-539-7510) entre las 8:30 a.m. y 4:30 p.m. lunes a miércoles, y pregunta por Deb Madden. También puede llamar a 773 539-3176 y dejar un mensaje en español para Minerva. Lee La Guía cada semana para saber lo que está pas ando en la parroquia y especialmente en la comunidad hispana.
