CCD Joins the Parish in Lenten Project to Fight Hunger

Parish children enrolled in Sunday religious education classes (CCD) have joined with the parish peace & justice committee in a Lenten project to raise money for the Heifer Project, an organization that fights hunger and poverty by providing food- and income-producing animals and training to resource-poor families. During the course of the next several weeks, the children enrolled in CCD classes will be asking family and friends to help them raise money for agricultural projects that will help poor families lift themselves out of poverty. At the end of the fundraising period, the children and their teachers will choose which animals to “buy” with their donations.

If you know a child who is in Sunday religious education and you want to help on this project, let the child know you would like to contribute. If you write a check, make it payable to “The Heifer Project,” and we’ll arrange to have an acknowledgement sent to you for your tax records. To learn more, talk to Sr. Mary Ann or visit the Queen of Angels Peace and Justice website.
