Directives for First Communion On April 30, 2005

QUEEN OF ANGELS FIRST COMMUNION

DRESS CODE
It is suggested that GIRLS making their First Communion wear a white dress and a white veil and white shoes.  You may prefer that your daughter wear something else.  If so, please talk it over with her so that she is comfortable with what she is going to wear. It is suggested that BOYS making their First Communion wear a suit or sport jacket with a shirt, tie, and pants of a coordinating color.  White ties are fine, but are not required.

PRAYER BOOKS
The children are allowed to have their Mass Books that were given to them in January in the pew with them.  However, they are NOT to carry them, rosaries, flowers, candles, etc. into church.  In addition, we ask that they do not wear flowers (corsages or bouquets) or gloves.

SEATING ARRANGEMENTS A full pew will be reserved for each child and their family and guests.  Pews will be marked by hanging the banner each child has made at the end of the pew.  Parents and guests are asked to take their places in their pew when they come into church.  The children will walk into church in procession as a group and take their places at the end of the pew with their family members.  Please make sure to leave room for them at the end of the pew.  After Mass, you are asked to remain in your pew, and the children will go to the altar to take a group picture.

RECEPTION OF HOLY COMMUNION At the time of the reception of Communion, the child and four guests will approach the main altar.  Other guests will be invited to receive Communion later. I
